Treat your special lady to some pamper time this Women’s Month!

August in South Africa is quite cold, and usually one’s skin feels dry and somewhat dehydrated. With National Women’s Day being celebrated this month, choose to treat your special lady to a pamper treatment to rejuvenate and rehydrate while indulging in the Granny Mouse Winter special at the same time.

During your stay, why not book your lady in for some “pamper time” while you catch up on some sport or go for a hike.

Included in each booked treatment at Granny Mouse Spa is their signature welcome ritual, a foot soak with exfoliation, which is carried out before the guest is then directed to the change room where they will get ready for their treatment.

To really get in the spoils, why not book for Granny Mouse’s Half Day Soother which lasts 3 hours and includes a full body exfoliation; CSpa shimmer milk hydro bath; 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage; Thalgo classic facial and a hand and foot massage –  a great package to tackle the entire body.

There is also a pregnancy package for expecting mums, which is called the Mummy Mouse’s Meander and features a 2 hour 30 minute treatment which is gentle, safe and soothing for mom and baby. Let her indulge in a gentle back, neck and shoulder massage, Thalgo classic facial and deluxe pedicure, to help soothe her tired body.

Adding glam to your garden!

If you love a bit of glamour and want to add some “oomph” to your garden, then why not consider glamming up your garden with eclectic garden signage, personalised water featured, and out of the ordinary vertical gardens.

Granny Mouse Country House & Spa are known for their incredible and luscious well-kept gardens and many whom have strolled through the pathways, have noticed quirky pieces of garden signage, props as well as water features including that of a fireplace-turned-water feature, a repurposed vintage fireplace which was saved during the Granny Mouse renovations over two decades ago and has been placed as a permanent feature near the reception area.

Apart from this, they have plants growing from bird baths, water features made from recycled taps and corrugated iron sheeting, as well as pot plants perched at various heights on a large tree – a DIY vertical garden – giving it a bit of character and colour.

Although large pieces of décor in the garden create a spectacle, DIY projects need not be large or over-the-top. One can create their own garden features simply by adding little garden signs or painted rocks that are simple and easy to make, yet add a bit of glam to the area.

Here is how to make your own simple DIY glam garden signage for the letter if your herb or flower:

Here we made a “T” for Thyme, however any letter can be made.

Tools:2

3 or 4 wooden craft sticks or ice cream sticks
Wood glue
Acrylic paint
Broken mirror/ beading/glitter
Prestick
White tile grout

Method:

4

Paint the wooden craft sticks your desired colour of acrylic paint (leave about 1cm free of paint on 2 sticks)

Stick the unpainted side into Prestic

k to allow to dry.

Once dry, place the two ice cream sticks with unpainted side together and glue. Hold until dry. Do the same for the other two.

Then create a “T” shape using the wooden sticks and glue in place.

Cover with glue and then cover with mirror, beading or glitter.

For the mosaic mirror, it is optional to use grout.

Once Dry. Stick the sign into the garden or potted plant.3
