Having undergone a total refurbishment recently, Granny Mouse has appointed a new Public Relations agency, Goldfish Communications, led by Director Karen Welgemoed.  Gill Bowmaker, the Managing Owner of Granny Mouse Country House & Spa says, “The challenge in hospitality is keeping our guests both past, current and new up to speed with what the team is doing, hence the decision for a KZN based company that will focus on communications in each province.”

Welgemoed, with over 10 years in the marketing realm, has held the post of Marketing Manager of Gateway Theatre of Shopping, as well as Brand Manager of uShaka Marine World. She brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity from both the retail and tourism sectors. Her qualifications include a BComm (PPE) and Post-graduate Marketing from UCT.  Ever passionate about balance in her life, Karen embraces the outdoors and can be found either running or mountain biking.

She is known for her professionalism in assisting brands with the intricacies of brand strategy, development and implementation and says, “I enjoy the challenge of working with different companies across an array of sectors and most of all sharing the immense possibilities that our respective brands have to offer,”
